Foolish Games turns 5 years old on the 15th of February. Although the site technically was published before this date, it is the day I consider the first day "open for business." To celebrate, I plan on uploading some fresh content this month. Please email me at Luke@foolishgames.com with suggestions... pictures, downloads, lyrics.. what would you like to see added?
Today I have posted 8 new real audio files. They were encoded in Real Player 8 format. The songs include 3 versions of Who Will Save Your Soul, 3 songs from an Innerchange performance, another duet with melissa etheridge singing Foolish Games, and Serve the Ego. The three versions of WWSYS include VH1 StoryTellers, MTV Unplugged, and audio from an SNL appearance. I also changed the download page so that the files now download directy and get opened with Real Player instead of embedding the plugin. I had some reports that IE5.5 for Windows and Netscape 4.76 were not handling the plugin very well, and in some cases crashing. This should resolve the problem. If anyone wants me to setup the plugin again as a seperate link, please email me at luke@foolishgames.com. I personally do not like the current method as a user has to wait for the file to download.
The address for Quiet Warrior is www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Stadium/7485/jewel.html
You will find some very good real audio files from the old days on this site. Foolish Games is currently mirroring the Real Audio Archive. Be sure to check out the FG collection of Real Audio files as well in the download section. www.foolishgames.com/download/
Now there are 20 real audio files on the website. I expect another 20 will be posted by the end of the month. Possibly some performances from the Innerchange Coffee Haus and some other classic Jewel performances.
I have offered to mirror the Quiet Warrior web site collection of Real Media files. The mirror is on download.foolishgames.com so the speed should be adequate. When I know the files are available, I will post a link to that website.
I have added three new real audio files including the Super Bowl Star Spangled Banner performance, You Can Sleep While I Drive which is a duet with Melissa Etheridge, and Under The Water. Although there was a copy of Under The Water on the site before, the quality was not very good. The new files have all been encoded in real player 8 surestream format on my Macintosh. I will be mirroring the files soon on my download.foolishgames.com server. Until then, the files should still stream but slowly. I'm hoping to build up my real audio file collection. If anyone would like to contribute, please feel free to email me files. Make sure that the original author is ok with this though. I do not want files "stolen" from other websites.
Foolish Games has been serving the Jewel fan community since 1997. The site originated from a Midi website started in late 1996, with a new section called --Hot Songs-- Jewel Kilcher. Later that year, the site was renamed Foolish Games and was eventually moved from AOL's webserver to two different domains.. www.nigmatech.com/jewel and www.ladyraven.com/jewel. Both domains are owned by then friends Rob and Caryn. Later I purchased foolishgames.com and moved the site "home." During that time, I've posted various pictures, news, lyrics and general information. This year, I plan to take great strides in content with more lyrics and a completely revised and accurate biography. The first re-write on the biography has already been completed, but more will follow. If/when I get the lyrics section completed, I will work on adding pictures, and multimedia content. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know by emailing Luke@FoolishGames.com. Thank you for supporting the website.

I have just recieved some information through e-mail that Entertainment Weekly has reported that the new album will be released November 2001. If this is accurate, it would be the same time of year that Spirit was released.
