An article in the Anchorage Daily News quotes Jewel's family and depicts their feelings about Chasing Down the Dawn. This article has raised a lot of stir in the EDA Community. Some feel it is not very accurate.

2001 is upon us. Just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

On the Billboard Christmas chart, Joy: A Holiday Collection is #15 this week, falling from #12 last week. The album peaked at #2 on the chart. The POP Catalog Chart shows the album at #7 this week, up from #10 last week. That chart shows old albums that have long left the top 20 and top 100 charts but are still selling well. The album must be at least 2 years old to show up on the chart.

35,000 copies of Chasing Down the Dawn have been sold to date. Over 7,000 have been sold at BN and Dalton Retailers.

Jewel visited Germany, Bosnia and Kosovo where she entertained the troops with the USO before Christmas. She had some fun in the cold winter snow just like many of us have experienced since November. During that trip Jewel hung out with individuals such as John Glenn, and Terry Bradshaw. Jewel was also helicoptered to a carrier to do a show. She returned in time for Christmas Eve at home.

Foolish Games has been down several times in the last 24 hrs due to various issues. Power loss, DNS problems with the secondary servers and roof leaks have all contributed to the problem.

In the Best of 2000 issue, Entertainment Weekly claims that Jewel has the "Most Regrettable Celebrity Bio." The articles continues on to say that "Chasing Down the Dawn" portraits Jewel as a "half pop star/half sea turtle." The article is on page 137 of the issue which also features a picture of Russell Crowe on the cover.

Jewel's management has announced that a new album is in the works. Planning for the album begins in January 2001. When more information is released, it will be posted on the site.
