Interesting Facts: Visitors and Logs

Recent analysis shows that most visitors hitting this website are using Internet Explorer 5.0 with Windows 98. 48% of the visitors are from the United States. Other operating systems including Solaris, HP-UX, Linux, Windows NT, Mac 0S, and WebTV have all hit the site within the past two weeks. Apple hits account for around 8 percent of the total hits. Probably about 1 percent of those are me. Netscape users account for only 8 percent of the total with 92 percent of Netscape users prefering Netscape 4.x. No windows ME users have hit the site in the last two weeks. Around 6 percent of visitors are from Europe. Most users are from proxy servers in Virginia (AOL). That means that if AOL switches to Netscape 6, then roughly 90 percent of my hits will be Netscape.

Changes to downloads

The download section of the site has been retooled to use a new third level domain for all downloads. The domain is download.foolishgames.com. This domain has hosted part of the files for some time. The Quiet Warrior site is also hosting files on the domain as a favor to the webmaster. What this means to you is that the files are limited to 500 transfers at a time. Also the bandwith has been limited to be courteous to my host. Most users should see much of a delay aside from cable/dsl and T1+ users. Some files will be unavailable during the transition time.

Bits and Baubles CD: More Information

The Bits and Baubles CD originally sold for $7 dollars at Target. The price at the Jewel store is $20 dollars, but now it is a collectable, and there was probably overhead for getting the CDs to sell. There are two versions of the CD, the regular version which is for sale at the Jewel store, and a second version that was pulled during the first week of sales at Target due to "offensive artwork" on the inside jacket.
