Recently Jewel and her management setup a contest for EDA's to see a live performance in Nashville, TN. 100 lucky individuals were chosen at random from entries submitted over the Internet. Applicants were selected from all over the U.S., with the only stipulation simply finding their own travel, and accomidations. It is quite refreshing to see Jewel reach out to her fans in such a kind gesture. Many have compared the event to JewelStock, an event which occured in 1996 near Woodstock, NY. Some have speculated that this event was staged by the management or the record company. Even if this were the case, Jewel has still agreed to do the show. If the tracks are included, the CD would have a warm feel much like her debut CD, Pieces of You. For now, I sit and wait in anticipation for her new album.

Jewel will be recording several live tracks in front of an audience of 200 people in Nashville, TN. 100 lucky winners were selected at random from the EDA community to attend with a guest. The tracks may or may not be included on the final album. Let's wish those lucky fans a safe journey.

The web site should be much faster. There was a server misconfiguration. DNS reverse lookup was enabled for every web site on the server resulting in a hugh penalty. This functionality has been disabled.

There is a new e-mail worm out that is infecting Microsoft® Windows-based PCs. The worm looks for Word documents on the infected system and sends a copy of one of them along with the virus to everyone in the persons Outlook/Outlook Express address book. I have received four copies of the virus to date. Luckily I do not use Windows for e-mail nor do I use Outlook Express. A worm is similar to a virus except that it is geared to spread at an alarming rate.

Movie posters recently appeared in Peru for the cinema release of Ride With The Devil. Individuals from Peru have speculated it was released as the result of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Both films were directed by Ang Lee.

The German release of Ride With The Devil is now available in VHS format. A DVD release has not been scheduled to date.
