PETA, a group dedicated to protecting animals has announced that their attention has been directed toward Rodeos. The group states that Rodeos harm animals because they use shocks, and similar methods to control animals. Although this is not techically Jewel news, it relates to the PBR CD, as well as her boyfriend. Ty Murray is a rodeo star. For more information about the issue, check out PETA's website and their recent mailings.
Jewel was interviewed for the November issue of Vanity Vair Magazine. She will appear on the cover. The issue will appear in stores by the end of October.
Jewel has written a song with Ty Murray (her boyfriend). The track is called "Til We Run Out Of Road." Release is expected soon on the Sony Records label. (Not Atlantic Records, an AOL TimeWarner Company)
With the recent cancellation of the private concert, the new CD will most likely be postponed further. Many were speculating that a November release date was possible prior to this recent announcement. Jewel, of course, will not be able to record for her next album while she has strep throat.
Jewel's private concert, scheduled for today, was cancelled as the singer/songwriter became ill. The concert was originally scheduled for today in an unknown location for several EDA's that were picked in a drawing. Most likely, the concert will be rescheduled for a later date. More information will appear on the site when it is available.
A question featuring Jewel was recently used on ABC's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. The question read "In Jewel's Song, what games are tearing her apart?" Of course, the answer is as clear as the name of this web site... Foolish.
The following system was used to decide the lucky "winners" of the private concert: Each individual who followed instructions by the deadline received tickets in the order they submitted their request. After that a wait list was created in the event of cancellations. This seems to be a very fair system.
