Hi All,
Yesterday was the first day of the "Intuition" video shoot in Los
Angeles. Shot in a downtown park with a decidedly urban look, director
Marc Klasfeld surrounded Jewel with a troop of extras: street people,
basketball players, tourists and a host of other characters, filling out
his vision of Jewel?s unreal reality journey.
Klasfeld?s treatment of the song shows Jewel in several situations where
simple actions of the everyday world are transformed into familiarly
ironic commercial extravaganzas. Without giving anything else away,
suffice it to say, Jewel is startlingly exposed in an appealing new
way...and she does do a little booty shakin?!
The first day?s shoot lasted until eleven last night and the crew
reassembled again at 9 this morning to continue. Once the shoot wraps up
tonight, the footage will go into post-production for special effects,
which will take a week or so.
We'll keep you updated as things progress. The song is electric and it?s
great to see Jewel having this much fun on a video shoot.

Hi All,
We have another report for you from the second day of Jewel's video
shoot. Once again, our man-behind-the-scenes reports in:
"The second day on location at the "Intuition" video shoot was full of
surprises. Jewel and director Marc Klasfeld were clearly enjoying their
tongue-in-cheek version of the standard pop video. We're talking way over
the top... back-up dancers, wind machines and pyrotechnics, baby! Lots of
costume changes meant Jewel's buddy (and stylist to the stars), Jessica
Paster, got to bring out the glad rags, instead of just another pair of
jeans.
The shoot wrapped well after midnight. A highlight of the evening was a
timed explosion on a downtown street that had a little too much oomph -
setting off car alarms and prompting the arrival of the Los Angeles fire
department. But, everything was under control and the locals in the
neighborhood presumed it was just the filming of Terminator 6. The video
crew members from Rockhard Films were true professionals."
And there you have it. Now, it's on to post-production. The video is due
out next month sometime. We'll keep you informed. MrBB

My upstream provider has been upgrading their switches and routing equipment every other week. Last night, the site was down again for about 10 minutes. I appologize for the inconvenience.
On a side note, I will be upgrading the Apache webserver soon to 2.0. I suspect the site will be down for about an hour as I fix bugs in the configuration. I will probably do that this weekend though.

On Saturday, April 26th, Jewel will be headlining a benefit concert on the
second night of the Art In The Square Festival in Southlake, Texas.
Proceeds from this event are to be distributed among more than a dozen
North Texas charities. Tickets will be made available to the public,
beginning this coming Saturday morning, March 29th through Ticketmaster.

During their Women's History Month celebration, XM Satellite Radio will be
broadcasting an extensive schedule of live concert recordings and Jewel is
among the artists honored. There's been a bit of confusion over the past
few days as to what Jewel concert will be broadcast this coming weekend.
We told you it would be an exclusive new recording from Lowell 2002 and
the XM Live guide has it listed as a show from Cambridge in 2000. Well,
guess what? It's neither!
This coming weekend, XM Live will indeed be broadcasting a Jewel concert
at the times we mentioned but it will be excerpts from Jewel's 1997
concert at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire, which was originally broadcast
by The BBC. (XM Live's online guide will soon reflect this change.) If you
tune in to channel "XMLive" next Saturday evening, March 29th at 9:00 p.m.
est, this 1997 concert will broadcast and it will broadcast again early
Sunday, March 30th at 2:OO a.m. est.
Then, during the first week or so of April, XM Cafe (a different XM
channel) will broadcast the exclusive never-before-broadcast show recorded
at Lowell's Memorial Auditorium on the 2002 solo tour. We don't yet have
the times for this, but we will let you know over the next few days, as
they finalize the XM Cafe schedule for April. Stay tuned!
Jewel's next album is now tentatively scheduled for UK release on June 2,
2002. A commercial release of her new "Intuition" single is scheduled in
the UK for May 19th. Additional tracks on this single are yet to be
finalized.
For the debut of "Intuition," Jewel's first single from her forthcoming album, AOL is doing a "First Listen" promotion next Monday, March 31st.

A 2CD compilation titled "Songbirds" is released in the UK tomorrow (March
24th) featuring some of the biggest hits by female artists over the past
30 years. Jewel's "Foolish Games" is included.
Jewel will appear in the June issue of "In Style" magazine in the Beauty
Talk section. This issue hits newsstands toward the end of May.
