I just finished the new T.V. Appearances page. Now I have a seperate section of the site just for T.V. listings. I'm hoping to add some older dates as well as new dates to the list. Hopefully I will get time to update the list once a month or so. For those of you curious about how the page works, I'll share a bit of technical information. All of the data is stored in a database. I am then converting the data to an XML schema that I developed, and translating it to HTML with an XSL stylesheet. Most of the middle tier is done with some DLLs I wrote in Visual Basic. I am using a similar setup on the Year Five (Current Year) guest book page.
Jewel has hired three producers for her new album. Each of them have unique accomplishments. First we have Itaal Shur who co-wrote Smooth with Rob Thomas for Santana's album. Next we have Dann Huff, who is famous for his work on country albums, and with pop artists like Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Madonna, and Celine Dion. Finally we have John Kurzweg, whom i just discussed in the prevous news posting. Do not forget that Jewel said she would be co-producing on this album as well!
Jewel recently enlisted the help of John Kurzweg, a producer. The duo already recorded one song and Kurzweg will return later this month to Nashville, to record several more. Kurzweg has also worked with Eagle-Eye Cherry (Jazz), and will work on Creed's next album later this summer.
WireImage.com has posted some images of Jewel at an event to honor Arif Mardin. Some images include Bette Midler, Jewel, and Arif Mardin. Others show Nedra, and Jewel together. Photographs from the post Academy Awards party are available as well.
Speculation has been running rampid that Jewel is engaged to Ty Murray. Many have pointed out that Jewel has been wearing quite a large diamond ring on her left finger. If this rumor is confirmed, I will post an update with more detail (if/when available).
There is a journal entry on Ty Murray's official web site about the CMT/TNN Country Music Awards. It states that Ty and Jewel will give out the song of the year award during the show. It also comments on Jewel performing and some video footage of Ty riding that will be present during the show. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ty, he is dating Jewel. You can learn more about the situation on the biography section of this site.
Recently Nikki on one of the Jewel mailing lists, noticed that a Jewel reference appears during an episode of the Simpsons. The class was learning about poetry, and three poets including Jewel were on the chalkboard.
Jewel will perform tonight at 8pm with John Michael Montgomery. She will also present an award during the show. The fan voted awards show will be broadcast live from the Nashville Gaylord Entertainment Center. More information available in previous news postings.
