On page 73 of the May 2001 issue of Readers Digest, there is a Jewel quote from Chasing Down the Dawn. It states, "Suffering is everywhere. Don't ever think it isn't. So are miracles. Don't ever think they aren't."

Last night I went to the U2 concert in Detroit. It was awesome! The concert went from 7:30 to 11:22 including the opening act that was on probably an hour. I only wish Jewel would do concerts that lasted that long. Last Jewel concert I went to only lasted 1 hour 45 minutes.. and Jewel was on 45 minutes.

Jewel will appear at the CMT/TNN Country music awards. The rumor is that she will be playing a song by one of the nominees. More information will be posted soon.

$600 dollars was donated to the clearwater project by EDAs celebrating Jewel's birthday.

Today is Jewel's Birthday. Many have decided to make a donation to clearwater, the charity that Jewel has set up. The organization helps villages get clean water supplies. A link to the clearwater web site is found on the links page.

Jewel has written several songs with Itaal Shur. Shur announced the collaboration on May 15th at the BMI Pop Awards. The awards show was held in Beverly Hills, CA. "Jewel's great. Yeah, we wrote some amazing songs together," he said. "We wrote like six, five songs already... Yeah, you never know, because songwriting you can never judge anybody." Shur later went on to state that he met Jewel at the Warner-Chappell writing conference in Nashville, TN.

Jewel is scheduled to perform toward the evening around 7:40 or 8:20PM. The concert starts at 1PM.
