Message Board Update
About half the message board is now in english. I also enabled guest posting for awhile to get it going. I'll try to fix the rest of it as soon as i can.

I added a new message board to the website today. Caryn and I are translating it from German to English. Most commands are pretty straight forward even in german. (I don't speak german, i've been using babelfish)
I picked this software because it was free and seemed to be very popular. Also I've never seen it on bugtraq.
The message board works fine, aside from the occasional german message. Feel free to sign up and try it out. Also if anyone has suggestions for categories, I'd love to hear them. Send me an email and i'll add them.
Several years ago I did have a message board. I had to remove it because I could not delete or suspend users who posted unacceptable content. Until now, I had been against this but I decided that new programs were out that delt with the problems. I did not feel like programming a message board from scratch, its a big project.
This is also from MrBB:
On Saturday night, Jewel dropped by The Bottom Line in New York City
where she sat in for a few songs during Steve Poltz's early show. Steve
has a new album coming out soon titled "Chinese Vacation," that will be of
interest to many of you.
Steve Poltz co-wrote "You Were Meant For Me".
This is from MrBB via the official jewel site mailing:
The "E" Entertainment cable channel is currently running an episode of
their "Behind The Scenes" program that focuses on the movie "Sweet Home
Alabama." Included is an interview with Jewel as well as footage from her
recording session for the title track. If you missed yesterday and today's
airings, this will be shown again on Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. est.
There are also several notable reruns scheduled for October, including a
rebroadcast of Jewel's May 10, 1997 appearance on Saturday Night Live and
TRIO will again be airing last year's concert special "Jewel: Live at
Humphrey's By The Bay," recorded at her two San Diego concerts on August
19 and 20, 2001, later next month. Europeans can also catch footage of
Jewel's May 17, 2002 concert at Germany's Rock Am Ring Festival on the
October 20th transmission of Rockpalast.

I updated the discography and news pages. The discography now has information about sweet home alabama as well as track list/lyrics for Jewel's albums. I also added paging again to the news page so its not 500 articles on one page.
I finally got around to fixing countless errors on the lyrics pages. I have all the This Way lyrics up again (lost them last November and never fixed it). I also standardized the poy, spirit, and joy links to match the lyrics index (no more 2 copies of some songs). Finally, I updated the lyrics index to include most of the songs (except a few this way tracks).
I forgot to comment on the remix of This Way that accomanies the video in my last post. I think it sounds quite good, in particular there is a section about 3 minutes in that is very soothing. I think this song might actually grab the interest of some older listeners.. well at least us grown up fans who started listening in our teens. Her target audience can't be 13 year old girls anymore. Few want to listen to her, they prefere these new artists that are all marketed to them. I won't name names, but there is one artist that really irritates me now with her screatchy voice. She can sing low, but never should go high.. she is all over the place in her songs. And no, I'm not talking about Britney or Cristina.
Good work Jewel.
Check out http://www.jeweljk.com/low/thisway.html to see the new video. This is a GREAT video. It has the same charm as the You Were Meant For Me video with a little more artistic feeling.. its about time they released a romantic video/song. As well all know, those sell for Jewel. I like her other work, but the average NON jewel fan likes Jewel's romantic songs... or at least what they think are romantic songs. Congrats to the director for coming up with such a great concent. Very simple, yet elligant.
My rating is 5/5.
I've been working on the back end of this site. I've just added some new tools to make my life easier.. including a new administation section for the news database. Hopefully this will encourage me to update the news more often :)
Don't forget to check out the new Jewel releases. I'll try to get that information into the discography and lyrics sections as soon as possible. I also have a design for the lyrics and discography sections that integrate the two... I will probably get to work on this over the weekend. Lately i've been very busy in college. I'm also trying to figure out where I should transfer for my bachelors since I'm getting toward the end of my path at kvcc.
I still plan on adding all the changes I talked about before in my last site news article.
One last thing, for those of you who still haven't heard the new Sweet Home Alabama remake.. check out http://www.sweet-home-alabama.com/ and click on enter. The flash presentation contains part of the song (jewel's remake that is).
