Later that same evening (6/16), Jewel will be one of the vocalists
participating in "Broadway Under The Stars." This free event, which is
co-produced by NYC & Company and The League of American Theaters &
Producers, offers a 90-minute musical "valentine" to New York City
residents and visitors. Accompanied by a 35 piece orchestra, a stellar
cast, including Jewel, will perform popular Broadway songs. This event is
held in Bryant Park, which will open at 5:30 for picnicking, with the show
to begin at 8:00 PM. Get there early to secure a spot on the grass.
Next Monday, June 16th, Jewel will be signing copies of her new CD at the
FYE store on 51st Street in New York City. She will be there from noon to
1:30.
Jewel's official website, jeweljk.com has launched a new subscription service for fans. For a small monthly or yearly fee you can access custom content including audio and video.
Download card pin numbers have been sent to customers that pre ordered Jewel's new album. I received mine today. In my case, it was detected as spam by apple mail. I'm glad I keep my "spam."
0304 has been released in Japan (today). The australian release will be available on June 23 and the New Zealand release on June 27. Ford's Radio Mix of Intuition will be included on all three releases.
Here is a little information on the new book, "Revealing Jewel." The book was released on June 3, 2003 at a price of 15 dollars US by Atria Books. The book was edited by Kenneth Calhoun and Cambria Jensen with an introduction by Jewel's brother, Atz. (not her father who is also named Atz) "Revealing Jewel" includes quotes from Billy Bob Thorton, Ty Murray, Moby, and a slew of other familar names along with entries from family members. Many images are scattered throughout the book. I received a copy of the book the other day and have not had time to read it. I have skimmed it and found it to be very interesting. I think it is the best source of infomation released in print on Jewel.
For example, there is a section describing a misunderstanding on the set of Ride With The Devil where Jewel tried to joke about the diva image only to scare off the cast and crew because they thought she was serious.
More information on the book can be found on http://www.simonsays.com/
I will do a review on the book when I have finished it.
We look forward to seeing many of you in the studio audience tomorrow at
the taping for "Last Call With Carson Daly." This particular show is now
scheduled to air on NBC late Friday night, June 20th at 1:35 AM EDT
(technically 6/21).
