I've noticed lately that the message board has been crashing in the logs. It appears the flat files have been corrupted. The program was written for a programming class assignment and I never finished it.
I am planning on writing a message board like system for Just Journal soon in Java. I will use that code on this site as well. That should fix the problems, and the information will be stored in mysql rather than in text files.
In addition to new photos, the August edition of "Interview" magazine

Jewel travels to Europe next week for a two-week promotional visit to
begin laying the groundwork for the release of her next single and new
"0304" album over there. This initial promo tour will primarily focus on
press and media, with a full schedule that includes visits to Germany,
Italy and The UK and additional interviews tentatively scheduled with
media in Denmark, Norway, and Switzerland.
With the vast majority of media activities being taped for later broadcast
and press interviews published at the discretion of the publishers, we
cannot give you specific dates on when you can read, watch or listen, but
we can give you some basic information that may help our international
friends find Jewel's upcoming print and media appearances. Please note
that all the items mentioned below are tentative possibilities and are
subject to change.
During Jewel's visit to Germany, among others, she has tentative plans to
conduct interviews with Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone, InStyle, Stern,
Allegra, Woman, Petra and TV Today.
During a visit to Italy, additional interviews may occur with GQ, Max,
Musica, All Music, Kiss Me, Cioe, Rockstar and Tribe.
Winding up the promo tour in The UK, she has a very busy schedule which
will include interviews with media and press all over Europe. Interviews
may take place with Woman Magazine, Ragazza, Top Music, Mujer 21, El
Dominical, You, CDUK, MTV and Rise. She may also be taping radio segments
with Radio 2, Capitol Radio, Smash Hits Radio, GWR Network, Clyde FM,
Forth FM, Wireless Group and Century before returning home to The States.
The RIAA announced yesterday that starting today they would start suing home users who share large amounts of content.
They claim that this only effects users who share their music with others. If you are downloading without sharing, they you are "safe" for now.
Unfortunetely, this means that individuals who legitimately buy music will pay more for it. It costs money to file lawsuits. Expect the cost of a CD or song on the apple store to rise.
I sent the RIAA an email explaining why I thought this approach was wrong. In it, I explained that I should not have to pay for other people to be sued.
I used to use file sharing services quite frequently until the apple music store was released. In fact, I haven't downloaded a song illegally since the service started. I pointed this out to the RIAA and suggested that they should wait until the apple music store is released to Windows users. I think the success that apple has had proves there is a serious demand. Windows users have no choice but pirate online or buy cds. I don't know about you, but 15 bucks for a CD with one song I like is not the way to go. That same song is 1 dollar on the apple store.
Yet again, the RIAA is costing us money. I feel that there need to be changes in the law to help individuals rights and not just make the RIAA and member organizations richer. I support giving artists and writers money, but the current system makes that very hard to do.

JeweLink - The Official Jewel Communications List
********************************************
Hi everybody,
Unfortunately news leaked before we could get our note to you first, so
many of you are already aware that Jewel and I are not going to continue
our relationship as manager and artist. When Jewel asked me to be
involved at the start of her career, I told her I’d manage for five years,
and it’s been ten now. They have been ten really amazing years, and you
know a lot of the stories of our development of her career together. As
other business opportunities have developed, as well as our work with
Higher Ground for Humanity and the ClearWater Project, I have watched my
energy and interest move more in that direction and away from management,
and I feel it’s time to make that move complete.
As Jewel and I have discussed this, we’ve felt that the timing is perfect
in terms of what is happening in the music industry. With the crisis the
industry is in, things have become much more difficult for artists.
Downloading and other factors have greatly impacted artists’ revenues, and
a high level of business expertise is needed now. Harder times have
drastically changed the relationship of artists with all areas of the
industry, making the management role as guard dog more important than
ever. To fill this role, Jewel has chosen the team of Irving Azoff and his
staff at Azoff Music Management.
She chose Irving for a number of reasons. A high level of management
connectivity in the industry is really needed for her right now, and
Irving certainly brings that to the table, along with a wealth of industry
experience. Important to her is his development of long-term career
artists such as the Eagles and Steely Dan. Irving has a reputation for
being very tough and I know he will protect her at all costs, which is
crucial right now. I am also impressed with the fact that so many of his
artists and employees have been with him for nearly thirty years; the
focus on loyalty and taking care of each other is great. I’m also
satisfied that the understanding and enthusiasm for Jewel’s talent as a
singer-songwriter and performer are primary in his interest in her. Also
important to me is the range of services and expertise that a larger
company provides. So I support her choice of new management and also
assure you that I will be around to consult and be involved as well--I’m
certainly not walking away entirely!
I think the thing Jewel and I most look forward to is having more time for
our personal relationship. It seems in the past year and a half, with the
crisis the music industry is in, we never even have time to go to a movie
together. So we can’t wait to have more time to enjoy each other without
the continual demands of her career always coming first.
I have to say that my contact with all of you has always been a highpoint
for me and I would miss that going away, so we’ll find ways for me to
still be in touch. You know I think you are the greatest fans on earth!
