Jewel will be performing at game 3 of the NBA Finals at the Continental
Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, NJ this evening. She will sing the
National Anthem and perform with her band during halftime events. The
broadcast begins live on ABC at 8:00 PM EDT.

Over the next few days, I will be upgrading software on the server. There might be brief periods where the site is slow. I do not plan on upgrading Apache so the website should remain up.

You can now view the 0304 lyrics on the lyrics page. They have not been added to the index with all the lyrics, but there are links under 0304 on the first lyrics page.

For the week of May 25-June 1, this site averaged 4000 hits a DAY for pages and over 750mb of transfer per day! With the album release this week, I am sure that the numbers will be close again. I am working on making the site faster and tweaking the load a bit. This site is run on a FreeBSD server I administer. Eight other websites are on the server. I am also working on a content generation engine to transform data from a database to static html pages. I used to have a program for windows that did it back when i was on windows NT 4. Once that is in place, I can update the lyrics, and news sections much more efficiently. Also I can use static pages instead of php for news articles.

The official Jewel website, www.jeweljk.com, received a makeover today. To go with the theme of the new album, the site was refitted with a new images and navigation. Several links still do not work as they are still deploying the site. The index page actually streams music samples in windows media format. The safari web browser complains about this, but does spawn windows media player to play it. (apple web browser).

I must say I like the new site. The navigation is much better than previous versions.

The site will also offer premium content with a subscription fee of around 35 bucks a year.

You can purchase 0304 at local stores today. The CD contains 14 tracks and a download card to recieve two free audio tracks. You must purchase the album this week to download the content.

The inside cover of the album contains the lyrics to all the songs. Interestingly enough, the CD itself is pink. The sound quality is quite nice. The enhanced CD features work on a Macintosh with an OSX native version. The file was saved in Quicktime format and resides on the CD in a sub directory. The player also contains several pictures including the "album cover" for the exclusive apple music store Intuition remix.

If you buy the album from apple, you won't get the download card.

The content on the CD also supports windows xp, 2000, me, and 98. I have not tried the pc version yet as my PC is disconnected for some hardware upgrades.

The video on the CD shows Jewel at the studio with her dog. She briefly describes recording two songs and a few other facts.

If you would like to see more video, the apple music store has video footage on the making of the Intuition Video. This is available at other sources as well. It was on the official site until they rolled out the new version today I think.

Most copies of 0304 purchased through the official Jewel site as pre-order do not contain the download card for the bonus tracks. This includes the cd that I purchased via the store.
