Jewel will be taping an episode of Austin City Limits on the 7th of Feb. The show will appear most likely in May.

I have been working on updating the BIO and Guest book pages to reflect a more modern appearance (and web technology. They are now written in XHTML 1.0 (the new standard for web pages) and Cascading Style Sheets. Users will need a recent browser to view them at full potential. (4.0+)

Jewel's movie has not been doing well at the box office. As a result it has not hit wide release. Many comments about the movie from critics include "I do not know if Jewel is a good actor because she did not get enough screen time," and "Jewel should go back to what she is best at, making albums." More information as it becomes available.

The template file is almost complete. I've been working on a new search engine, that takes advantage of the Microsoft Index Server (part of Option Pack 4/IIS 4). The new page uses ASP technology and XHTML 1.0. I am now using all style sheets for layout. I hope to have some of the pages out by Feb/Mar 2000.

Jewel appeared on the daily show (comedy central) as a "special" guest. She briefly promoted her holiday album and commented to the fact she was not thrilled about the album for some reason. The host, John Stewart, made a joke about Jewel's record company forcing her to do it. Then they talked about "Jewel's boyfriend" a "cowboy." John made jokes about learning to ride a horse at a ranch, etc. (It was rather funny actually) For the most part, Jewel seemed to be in good spirits.

Jewel, along with several artists including B. B. King will be featured in a show on TNT entitled Christmas in Washington on the 8th of Dec. President Clinton will attend, along with his wife.

Stage one of the new site design is complete. The server software has changed from linux/apache to nt/IIS4. This will allow me to offer more dynamic content, and new features. Of course technically I could have implimented the same things on linux. But why? (jk linux gurus)

Glamour magazine voted Jewel "Woman of the Year" for 1999. The sited reasons including her humanitarian work, etc. Jewel will appear in a feature article in December of Glamour.
