Lately I've seen a lot of negativity coming from Jewel fans. Well actually former Jewel fans. This trend disturbs me greatly. Although this site was created to show another side of Jewel, the I hate you all side wasn't on the list. I will continue to monitor these ongoing attacks. If anyone actually has a recent (within a year) POSITIVE to tell me about Jewel, I'd love to hear it. Also for those of you who do have bad things to say please address why you think jewel acts the way you say she does.
I'm getting close to finishing it. Expect a new BIO by March for sure. Sorry Tanner for not posting the old Foolish Games look. I just have been so busy. 3.0 will LIVE!!! Then I'll just start uploading 4 and 5 lol.
I've gotten some email about the program, so I'll give you an update. I've started learning C and JavaScript. (yeah I should have learned JavaScript along time ago) I have obviously scratched my old Jewel application written in Visual Basic. With the C version I should be able to port it to things besides Windows. The first version will be written for DOS/Windows. After C, I will learn C++ and then I will start working on Visual C++. Once in Visual C++, I can do everything I promised and more! The initial version will be VERY simple and contain a lyrics archive, poetry samples, my jewel bio, and information submitted by other users. It will be distributed in ZIP format, and will be virus scanned before I upload it. I always virus scan everything I post with the latest McAfee/NAI dat files.
btw in case anyone is curious, I'm a Computer Tech/Webmaster for a living. I've been designing sites professionally since 01/98. I've also done tech work since around 06/98. My fiancée, Caryn, is currently studying Computer Science at a private college on the other side of the state. :( That side of Michigan gets way too much snow! Don't send me computer questions either! I really hate that. If you did it all day, you wouldn't want to answer them either. :)
Don't think I'm a bad guy though. I just recently added my name to allexperts.com. I will help out people with HTML/CSS problems. Aol users.. STOP USING PERSONAL PUBLISHER! Be creative :)
Come on someone email me about it.. my last three emails have been for links to other peoples sites. BTW I will update that as soon as my bio is done. Then this really disorganized news area! Oh I am toying with the idea of learning C. Visual Basic sucks.
Jewel's movie will be released in September after her US tour. For more information about the movie, go to the website. http://www.universalpictures.com/ridewiththedevil/
Currently, I am working on the Bio section of this site. I am working on a new layout, new info, and a better interface (I hope). Also I have been informed that several people are having difficulty navigating this site. I am working on a solution to that problem as well. In fact I have a new site design already. Yes I know that I'm not done with this one, but it gives me something to do while my fiancee is looking at wedding magazines. ::shakes his head:: Guys if you sit through wedding magazines, then you know you're in love!
Due to some hosting issues, I was unable to update my site for some time. I appologize for this delay. Soon I will begin work on the site again. For now I will add FREE EMAIL ACCOUNTS to my site.
Please note that I am working on a project now that I think everyone will like. It is a Jewel Program (yes an exe file, someone asked). The program is in visual basic 5.0 and contains information, etc. I am writing it so that Jewel fans will be able to access information when they are not on the net or give it to someone without internet access. The program runs on Windows 95, 98 and NT (4.0, 5.0). For more information, email me at Luke500544@aol.com with subject Jewel program.
Former manager sues Jewel, blames mother LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Jewel's former manager is seeking more than $10 million from the singer, claiming she was fired after Jewel's mother engineered a rift between them. Inga Vainshtein, who says she discovered the 24-year-old singer five years ago in San Diego, filed a lawsuit Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The suit claims that Jewel's mother, Lenedra Carroll, shadowed Vainshtein as a "co-manager" to learn how to handle Jewel's business affairs, then urged her daughter to fire Vainshtein when she learned enough to do it on her own. Jewel's mother also told the singer that advice from Vainshtein had to be approved by a "channeller" who purportedly sought advice from an entity referred to as "Z," the lawsuit claims. A message seeking comment from Jewel's publicist at Atlantic Records was not returned Monday.
