I've had several requests for changes to the site, file uploads and sheet music for foolish games. The first two will be fixed soon and the last one i'm not sure i can solve.
I haven't forgotten about the site. I'm working on some new java code to rework the site. Its under development for my blogging site and it should work for the most part on this site with a few slight modifications once its done. :)
Meanwhile, you may remember back in March 2001 that I reported that a Jewel interview was filmed for the new Rutles movie "Can't Buy Me Lunch". I don't think it ever made it into the cinemas but finally it's being released in the US on DVD on 1st March.
This is a link to the only working free semi-official message board. jeweljk.com used to have a free board but now only members of jewel unedited can use it.
My free blogging service is back online. Its not completely working but posting and signing up for accounts is ok. Some of the other features need work. :)
Its considered alpha quality at the moment. Feel free to sign up for an account. Send me email feedback if you like it, or if you have problems.
Instead of making up a whole bunch of info here, I'll just copy and paste the announcement they sent out. :)
Well, since it's officially Saturday the 19th here on the east coast....
Happy Birthday jewel@smoe.org!
Believe it or not, the EDA/Jewel list is ten years old today.
Late in the evening of Sunday, February 19th 1995 (at 11:42pm ET to be exact), after one of Jewel's residency shows at the Kendall Cafe in Boston, smoe.org co-owner Jeff Wasilko started the Jewel mailing list...the first list at smoe.org. And the rest, as they say, is history...
Just thought the members of this list would like to know. Especially those that were here in that late winter of 1995. (I wasn't, I joined March 1996)
Feeling a lot older suddenly,
Mike - list owner
P.S. The digest version of the list started January 1, 1996, so archives dating back to the birth of this list do not go back to February 1995, they only go back to January 1, 1996. The Jewel-news list started September 1996. To see the list archives, head to www.smoe.org/lists and scroll down to the Jewel list. You will also see the other 80+ lists now hosted here.
P.P.S. To see the EDA Yearbook (still online and complete with pictures and bios of many members past and present), head to www.endor.org/jewel/eda/yearbook/ You can also still make your own entry I believe!
I'm starting to migrate the pages from the windows server copy to the new unix server. You should start to see more content gradually. A few links may be broken during the transition.
