I just changed the way the guest book displays the current entries. It should appear more like the rest of the entries from previous years. On the technical side, I changed to an XML solution. The data is extracted from the database, converted to XML, and then with XSLT it is presented as HTML. I've been trying to get this to work for over a year now, and it finally happened with the help of a dll I wrote in Visual Basic. It appears to be faster than the old method. I'm hoping to use it for the discography.
Jewel's Foolish Games video was featured on "Name That Video." Contestants on the show must finish the words after a portion of the video starts playing. The show aired April 9th on VH1.
US Weekly has a picture of Jewel and Ty Murray talking with Renee Zellweger (sp?) after the Oscars at the Vanity Fair Bash. You can find the picture on page 73, Issue 321/322. The magazine is from Apirl 9-16, 2001. It seems a bit interesting since there was a lot of stir a few years back about how Renee and Jewel "look like twins."
STATELINE, Nev. (AP) - Now you can find Jewel on the shelves of your local bookstore as well as the record store.
The singer has written an autobiography called ``Chasing Down the Dawn: Life Stories'' using her full name, Jewel Kilcher. She describes how she grew up poor in Alaska and struggled to make ends meet before making it big as a
performer. She also details her adventures on the road.
``It's a little bit hard in the press for people to get a real feel for you,'' she told AP Radio. ``They get ideas of you but not a real feel for you. So when a fan reads a book like this they can understand how my mind
works.''
Jewel said she's especially proud of photography she did that appears in the book.
``The middle section is my photography,'' she said. ``My friend I was working with that helped me design the book really liked it and thought we should put it in.''
This is Jewel's second book. She released ``A Night Without Armor: Poems'' in May 1998.
I've begun work on an updated discography. Currently I am adding records to a database. I plan on tying in the lyrics and discography databases so that it will be easy to search them. I may merge the two sections of the website some day depending on how it fits together.

Recently I found a site called musicnotes.com that sells sheet music in digital format. Windows users can buy the music and download it. They have several Jewel songs including Foolish Games, Don't, Pieces of You, and more. Looks like a nice place to pick up guitar tabs legally!
Entertainment Tonight (ET) will feature a segment on MTV Cribs including some footage of Jewel tomorrow night (3/22). Air time in most markets is around 7PM, but can vary.
