I just added 7 pictures from the This Way Photo shoots courtesy of the "Jewel Street Team." Although these pictures are available elsewhere, I figured it would still add to my gallery.

Jewel Goes West
Singer to launch acoustic tour
Stripping down
After wrapping up her full-scale tour behind This Way, Jewel will launch
a solo acoustic tour on August 16th in Duluth, Minnesota. Dubbed the New
Wild West tour, the outing will find Jewel in smaller venues across the
West Coast and Southwest.
This will be the first time Jewel will play her guitar for a whole set
since she was bucked off her horse this April. Since then, she's only
been able to finger-pick a few acoustic numbers during the This Way Tour,
leaving her feeling a bit exposed up on stage. "It's very strange," Jewel
told Rolling Stone. "There's a much more extensive dance routine, but
with a broken collarbone. It's nowhere near as sexy, but my belly's
showing."
Singer-songwriter Scooter Scudieri will open on all dates. Scudieri was
one of the artists featured on the Soul City Cafe component of Jewel's
tour, a showcase for up-and-coming musical acts and spoken-word artists.
For an artist who's been performing live since the age of ten, Jewel has
not burned out on the grueling process. "Any time anybody is spending
their own money to come see you, that's a gift," she said. "They're
supporting my lifestyle and I'm very aware of that. I don't have to have
a day job. I can write more. It used to be every household would have a
poet, and now it's not one rich family that supports a poet, it's the
nation, through ticket sales and buying CDs. It's been a dream come
true."

I added some offsite links to the standing still audio and video. You can access it on the "other files" page.
I recently added some Jewel street team content to the website. When I get more time, I'll reorganize it so its easier to read. I thought the extra info was worth the poor layout for the moment.
This information comes from the official Jewel website newsletter.. learn more about it at http://www.jeweljk.com/ or look at the calendar there.
Now the info:
There are quite a few Jewel TV broadcasts scheduled over the next several
weeks that have not been aired for awhile.
On Saturday, August 17th, HBO and HBO2 will be rebroadcasting the episode
of "Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry" that includes Jewel. This was
recorded live at The Supper Club in NYC in November 2001, spotlighting
original material performed by contemporary urban poets and well-known
music and comedy artists. Jewel is among the poets featured. Originally
broadcast in December of last year. HBO broadcast at 12:00 a.m. EDT and
HBO2 broadcast at 11:30 p.m. EDT.
On the same date, as well as the following day, Europeans who receive VH1
(Nordic/Europe only!) can catch "Being: Jewel." This transmits at 2:00
p.m. and 7:00 p.m. CET on the 17th and 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. CET on the
18th. This is "a day in the life" format, shot from Jewel's perspective
using a camera mounted on her sunglasses and was primarily filmed in
Madrid during her European promotional tour earlier this year. This show
will be followed by "Jewel: Greatest Hits" featuring the various single
videos.
Over the weekend of August 24th and 25th, The Trio Network will be
rebroadcasting "Jewel: Live at Humphrey's By The Bay." This hour-long
concert special was recorded in San Diego on August 19 and 20, 2001.
Broadcasts are scheduled for 11:00 p.m EDT on the 24th and again at 2:00
a.m. EDT on the 25th.
On Monday August 5th, many PBS stations will be rebroadcasting Jewel's
episode of "Life 360." This program was recorded a week after 9/11 before
a very small invited audience in NYC. Jewel is interviewed and performs
"Hands" and "Break Me" solo acoustic. PBS stations determine their own
scheduling so check your local listings for times and availability in your
area.
Beginning this Friday, August 16th, Jewel embarks on her "New Wild West"
solo acoustic tour, which opens at Duluth Entertainment Center in Duluth,
Montana. Soul City Cafe artist Scooter Scudieri will open the first run
of concerts and then Jewel's band guitarist, Stuart Mathis, will take over
the support slot. Additional information about openers later in the tour
will be announced. More information available at http://www.jeweljk.com/

I've gone through some of my archived news that never got posted and added it to the database. You can now see some jewel interviews and information from late last year as well as a few tidbits I posted today.
This information was compiled from a few Jewel interviews released around the album.
Question to Jewel: How do you feel about the album?
Jewel: This is definately my favorite record. I've never been very
comfortable making records. I got to co-produce this record and finally
by my fourth record, I've learned enough about the process and have been
able to control it more. The end result is a record that is a lot more 'raw' than my past records.
Question: What is your favorite song on the album?
Answer: On my own record, my favorite song "The New Wild West"
Question: Your new album sounds a lot like country music. Have you considered doing a crossover album?
Answer: I've always had a real strong country influence. This was something people commented on on my first record with the song "Don't". I guess it will always be a part of me in the end. I might do one or two country songs but I'm not really concentrating on
crossingover.
Question: I understand you wrote the song "This Way" with Ty. Is this true?
Answer: I wrote this song with Ty on New Year's Eve and I just wanted
to show him what it was like to write songs. He's a 'bull rider' so
we wrote it about him being on the rodeo trail. We mention a man named Louie Field who is an all around
champion cowboy. When we were writing it, Ty wanted to be sure it didn't sound
like a cliche rodeo song. So if you listen to it, it also sounds like it
could be about me being on the rode or anyone who works hard.
ATTENTION ASPIRING FILMMAKERS: Soul City Cafe is proud to present the
Jewel Video Director Search! With this incredible new contest, Jewel and
Soul City Cafe are looking for a talented yet-to-be-established filmmaker
to conceive and direct the video for "This Way," the title track to
Jewel's latest CD. Entrants have to submit a synopsis of their idea
(treatment) and a completed, entry form by August 7th. The contest entry
fee is $25. The winner will direct the video based on their winner
concept, working with Jewel and other industry experts. How cool is that?
