The site was down last night due to a hardware problem. While setting up a raid 1 configuration for the site, the processor was maxed up for several minutes. As a result, it overheated and caused a crash of the operating system. I had to upgrade the OS and found out that the processor was overclocked 1.5 times its normal value. The thermal compound did not handle the long term heat and had dried up and started to flake off. I removed the old compound and set the processor to the correct speed (3oo mhz sadly). Normally a processor would not overheat simply by high usage.

On the up side, I upgraded the operating system which i've been wanting to do for some time.
