Yesterday, Jewel became the newest artist to join the prestigious roster
of EMI Music Publishing. EMI Music Publishing, a unit of Britain's EMI
Group PLC, represents many of the top songwriters and artists in the
industry today. EMI Publishing Chairman and CEO Martin Bandier said he was
delighted to have one of America's best known and best loved songwriters
become a part of this very special family. "Jewel has established herself
as one of America's foremost songwriters and performers, and her music is
an indelible part of our music culture. EMI Music Publishing is thrilled
to be a part of the next stage of her career and her evolution as an
artist and songwriter."
EMI has an excellent overview of Jewel's many accomplishments on their
site. If you'd enjoy reading this, point your browser to:
Also, those of you in the New York City vicinity may want to tune in to
WPLJ tomorrow during the morning drive hours. I'm not sure if Jewel will
be phoning in or stopping by for an on-air performance, but she'll be on
promoting the Central Park concert.
From mailing list:
Intuition made it's TRL countdown debut today at #9!!!! They played the video
up until
"sell your sin, just cash in!" It received more votes than Eminem's Loose
Yourself, which was at #10.
Tomorrow morning, Jewel will be the musical guest on "Live With Regis &
Kelly." We are not sure if this will broadcast live tomorrow or be shown
later in the week. This program broadcasts Monday through Friday at 9:00
am est on ABC.
Also, "E! News Daily Live" has a feature on Jewel planned. Again, this
may broadcast at any time they choose. This program broadcasts weekday
evenings at 7:00 pm est on E!.
I sent an e-mail to the official Jewel website yesterday asking just that question. Here is the response I got: "We don't know, but one of the 'Intuition' remixes is available there
now." I am still hopeful it will be. "This Way" is not available on the service, but POY, Spirit, and Joy: A Holiday Collection are available for purchase.
